प्रकृतिभिर् उपक्रुष्टम् अपनयेत्, औपघातिके वा देशे निवेशयेत् इति ॥
॥ The king॥ should remove one who has agitated the populace, or ॥ he॥ should settle him in a perilous region.
english translation
prakRtibhir upakruSTam apanayet, aupaghAtike vA deze nivezayet iti ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptभूत पूर्वे येन दोषेण अपवृत्तस् तं प्रकृति दोषं छादयेत्, येन च गुणेन उपावृत्तस् तं तीव्री कुर्यात् इति ॥
Having recovered a lost territory, he should hide those vices of his, owing to which he lost it, and increase those virtues by which he recovered it.
english translation
bhUta pUrve yena doSeNa apavRttas taM prakRti doSaM chAdayet, yena ca guNena upAvRttas taM tIvrI kuryAt iti ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपित्र्ये पितुर् दोषांश् छादयेत्, गुणांश् च प्रकाशयेत् इति ॥
With regard to the inherited territory, he should cover the vices of his father, and display his own virtues.
english translation
pitrye pitur doSAMz chAdayet, guNAMz ca prakAzayet iti ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptचरित्रम् अकृतं धर्म्यं कृतं च अन्यैः प्रवर्तयेत् । प्रवर्तयेन् न च अधर्म्यं कृतं च अन्यैर् निवर्तयेत् ॥
He should initiate the observance of all those customs, which, though righteous and practised by others, are not observed in his own country, and give no room for the practice of whatever is unrighteous, though observed by others.
english translation
caritram akRtaM dharmyaM kRtaM ca anyaiH pravartayet । pravartayen na ca adharmyaM kRtaM ca anyair nivartayet ॥
