असमाप्ते तु कर्मणि याज्यं याजकं वा त्यजतः पूर्वः साहस दण्डः ॥
If a sacrificer sending out a priest happens to be a person who has not kept the sacrificial fire, or to be a preceptor or one who has already performed sacrifices, then the fines shall be 100, 1000, and 1000 panas respectively.
english translation
asamApte tu karmaNi yAjyaM yAjakaM vA tyajataH pUrvaH sAhasa daNDaH ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअनाहित अग्निः शत गुरु यज्वा च सहस्रगुः । सुरापो वृषली भर्ता ब्रह्महा गुरु तल्पगः ॥
As it is certain that sacrificial merits fall in value when performed in company with a drunkard, the husband of a Súdra woman, a murderer of a Bráhman,
english translation
anAhita agniH zata guru yajvA ca sahasraguH । surApo vRSalI bhartA brahmahA guru talpagaH ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअसत् प्रतिग्रहे युक्तः स्तेनः कुत्सित याजकः । अदोषस् त्यक्तुम् अन्योन्यं कर्म संकर निश्चयात् ॥
or one who has violated the chastify of the wife of his preceptor, a receiver of condemnable gifts, or is a thief, or one whose performance of sacrificial acts is condemnable, it is no offence to send out such a priest.
english translation
asat pratigrahe yuktaH stenaH kutsita yAjakaH । adoSas tyaktum anyonyaM karma saMkara nizcayAt ॥
