धात्रीम् आहितिकां वा अकामां स्व वशां गच्छतः पूर्वः साहस दण्डः, पर वशां मध्यमः ॥
When a master has connection with a nurse or pledged female slave against her will, he shall be punished with the first amercement; a stranger doing the same shall be punished with the middlemost amercement.
english translation
dhAtrIm AhitikAM vA akAmAM sva vazAM gacchataH pUrvaH sAhasa daNDaH, para vazAM madhyamaH ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकन्याम् आहितिकां वा स्वयम् अन्येन वा दुषयतो मूल्य नाशः शुल्कं तद् द्वु गुणश् च दण्डः ॥
When a man commits or helps another to commit rape with a girl or a female slave pledged to him, he shall not only forfeit the purchase value, but also pay a certain amount of money (sulka) to her and a fine of twice the amount (of sulka to the Government).
english translation
kanyAm AhitikAM vA svayam anyena vA duSayato mUlya nAzaH zulkaM tad dvu guNaz ca daNDaH ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptआत्म विक्रयिणः प्रजाम् आर्यां विद्यात् ॥
The offspring of a man who has sold off himself as a slave shall be an Arya.
english translation
Atma vikrayiNaH prajAm AryAM vidyAt ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptआत्म अधिगतं स्वामि कर्म अविरुद्धं लभेत, पित्र्यं च दायम् ॥
A slave shall be entitled to enjoy not only whatever he has earned without prejudice to his master‟s work, but also the inheritance he has received from his father.
english translation
Atma adhigataM svAmi karma aviruddhaM labheta, pitryaM ca dAyam ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptमूल्येन च आर्यत्वं गच्छेत् ॥
On paying the value (for which one is enslaved), a slave shall regain his Aryahood.
