(Payments for Witnesses.) Fees for witnesses (purushabhritih) shall cover 1/8th of the amount (astánga).

Provision proportional to the amount sued for may also be made for the expenses incurred by witnesses in their journey.

The defeated party shall pay these two kinds of costs.
