मार्जार उष्ट्र वृक वराह श्व अवि द्वागुली नप्तृ काक उलूकानाम् अन्येषां वा निशा चराणां सत्त्वानाम् एकस्य द्वयोर् बहूनां वा दक्षिणानि वामानि च अक्षीणि गृहीत्वा द्विधा चूर्णं कारयेत् ॥
HAVING pulled out both the right and the left eye-balls of a cat, camel, wolf, boar, porcupine, váguli (?), naptri (?), crow and owl, or of any one, two, or three, or many of such animals as roam at nights, one should reduce them to two kinds of powder.
english translation
mArjAra uSTra vRka varAha zva avi dvAgulI naptR kAka ulUkAnAm anyeSAM vA nizA carANAM sattvAnAm ekasya dvayor bahUnAM vA dakSiNAni vAmAni ca akSINi gRhItvA dvidhA cUrNaM kArayet ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततो दक्षिणं वामेन वामं दक्षिणेन समभ्यज्य रात्रौ तमसि च पश्यति ॥
Whoever anoints his own right eye with the powder of the left eye and his left eye with the powder of the right eye-ball can clearly see things even in pitch dark at night.
english translation
tato dakSiNaM vAmena vAmaM dakSiNena samabhyajya rAtrau tamasi ca pazyati ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएक आम्लकं वराह अक्षि ख द्योतः काल शारिवा । एतेन अभ्यक्त नयनो रात्रौ रूपाणि पश्यति ॥
One is the eye of a boar; another is that of a khadyota (fire-fly), or a crow, or a mina bird. Having anointed one's own eyes with the above, one can clearly see things at night.
english translation
eka AmlakaM varAha akSi kha dyotaH kAla zArivA । etena abhyakta nayano rAtrau rUpANi pazyati ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptत्रि रात्र उपोषितः पुष्येण शस्त्र हतस्य शूल प्रोतस्य वा पुंसः शिरः कपाले मृत्तिकायां यवान् आवास्य अविक्षीरेण सेचयेत् ॥
Having fasted for three nights, one should, on the day of the star, Pushya, catch hold of the skull of a man who has been killed with a weapon or put to the gallows. Having filled the skull with soil and barley seeds, one should irrigate them with the milk of goats and sheep.
english translation
tri rAtra upoSitaH puSyeNa zastra hatasya zUla protasya vA puMsaH ziraH kapAle mRttikAyAM yavAn AvAsya avikSIreNa secayet ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततो यव विरूढ मालाम् आबध्य नष्टच् छाया रूपश् चरति ॥
Putting on the garland formed of the sprouts of the above barley crop, one can walk invisible to others.
english translation
tato yava virUDha mAlAm Abadhya naSTac chAyA rUpaz carati ॥
