देव पितृ पूजा दान अर्थम्, स्वस्ति वाचनम्, अन्तःपुरम्, महानसम्, दूत प्रावर्तिमम्, कोष्ठ अगारम्, आयुध अगारम्, पण्य गृहम्, कुप्य गृहम्, कर्म अन्तो, विष्टिः, पत्ति अश्व रथ द्विप परिग्रहो, गो मण्डलम्, पशु मृग पक्षि व्याल वाटाः, काष्ठ तृण वाटाश् च इति व्यय शरीरम् ॥
The chanting of auspicious hymns during the worship of gods and ancestors, and on the occasion of giving gifts, the harem, the kitchen, the establishment of messengers, the store-house, the armoury, the warehouse, the store-house of raw materials, manufactories (karmánta), free labourers (vishti), maintenance of infantry, cavalry, chariots, and elephants, herds of cows, the museum of beasts, deer, birds, and snakes, and storage of firewood and fodder constitute the body of expenditure (vyayasaríram).

deva pitR pUjA dAna artham, svasti vAcanam, antaHpuram, mahAnasam, dUta prAvartimam, koSTha agAram, Ayudha agAram, paNya gRham, kupya gRham, karma anto, viSTiH, patti azva ratha dvipa parigraho, go maNDalam, pazu mRga pakSi vyAla vATAH, kASTha tRNa vATAz ca iti vyaya zarIram ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptराज वर्षं मासः पक्षो दिवसश् च व्युष्टम्, वर्षा हेमन्त ग्रीष्माणां तृतीय सप्तमा दिवस ऊनाः पक्षाः शेषाः पूर्णाः, पृथग् अधिमासकः, इति कालः ॥
The royal year, the month, the paksha, the day, the dawn (vyushta), the third and seventh pakshas of (the seasons such as) the rainy season, the winter season, and the summer short of their days, the rest complete, and a separate intercalary month are (the divisions of time).
english translation
rAja varSaM mAsaH pakSo divasaz ca vyuSTam, varSA hemanta grISmANAM tRtIya saptamA divasa UnAH pakSAH zeSAH pUrNAH, pRthag adhimAsakaH, iti kAlaH ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकरणीयं सिद्धं शेषम् आय व्ययौ नीवी च ॥
He shall also pay attention to the work in hand (karaníya), the work accomplished (siddham), part of a work in hand (sésha), receipts, expenditure, and net balance.
english translation
karaNIyaM siddhaM zeSam Aya vyayau nIvI ca ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसंस्थानं प्रचारः शरीर अवस्थापनम् आदानं सर्व समुदय पिण्डः संजातं एतत् करणीयम् ॥
The business of upkeeping the government (samsthánam), the routine work (prachárah), the collection of necessaries of life, the collection and audit of all kinds of revenue,—these constitute the work in hand.
english translation
saMsthAnaM pracAraH zarIra avasthApanam AdAnaM sarva samudaya piNDaH saMjAtaM etat karaNIyam ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकोश अर्पितं राज हारः पुर व्ययश् च प्रविष्टं परम संवत्सर अनुवृत्तं शासन मुक्तं मुख आज्ञप्तं च अपातनीय एतत् सिद्धम् ॥
That which has been credited to the treasury; that which has been taken by the king; that which has been spent in connection with the capital city not entered (into the register) or continued from year before last, the royal command dictated or orally intimated to be entered (into the register),—all these constitute the work accomplished.

koza arpitaM rAja hAraH pura vyayaz ca praviSTaM parama saMvatsara anuvRttaM zAsana muktaM mukha AjJaptaM ca apAtanIya etat siddham ॥
