वास्तुच् छिद्र अनुशालेषु श्रेणी प्रपणि निकाया आवसेयुः ॥
In the several corners, guilds and corporations of workmen shall reside.

vAstuc chidra anuzAleSu zreNI prapaNi nikAyA AvaseyuH ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअपर अजित अप्रतिहत जयन्त वैजयन्त कोष्ठान् शिव वैश्रवण अश्वि श्री मदिरा गृहाणि च पुर मध्ये कारयेत् ॥
In the centre of the city, the apartments of Gods such as Aparájita, Apratihata, Jayanta, Vaijayanta, Siva, Vaisravana, Asvina (divine physicians), and the honourable liquor-house (Srí-madiragriham), shall be situated.
english translation
apara ajita apratihata jayanta vaijayanta koSThAn ziva vaizravaNa azvi zrI madirA gRhANi ca pura madhye kArayet ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयथा उद्देशं वास्तु देवताः स्थापयेत् ॥
In the corners, the guardian deities of the ground shall be appropriately set up.
english translation
yathA uddezaM vAstu devatAH sthApayet ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptब्राह्म ऐन्द्र याम्य सैनापत्यानि द्वाराणि ॥
Likewise the principal gates such as Bráhma, Aindra, Yámya, and Sainápatya shall be constructed.
english translation
brAhma aindra yAmya sainApatyAni dvArANi ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptबहिः परिखाया धनुः शत अपकृष्टाश् चैत्य पुण्य स्थान वन सेतु बन्धाः कार्याः, यथा दिशं च दिग् देवताः ॥
and at a distance of 100 bows (dhanus = 108 angulas) from the ditch (on the counterscarp side), places of worship and pilgrimage, groves and buildings shall be constructed. Guardian deities of all quarters shall also be set up in quarters appropriate to them.

bahiH parikhAyA dhanuH zata apakRSTAz caitya puNya sthAna vana setu bandhAH kAryAH, yathA dizaM ca dig devatAH ॥
