यथा कालं च सस्य आदि जातं जातं प्रवेशयेत् । न क्षेत्रे स्थापयेत् किंचित् पलालम् अपि पण्डितः ॥

Grains and other crops shall be collected as often as they are harvested. No wise man shall leave anything in the fields, nor even chaff.

प्राकाराणां समुच्छ्रयान् वलभीर् वा तथा विधाः । न संहतानि कुर्वीत न तुच्छानि शिरांसि च ॥

Crops, when reaped, shall be heaped up in high piles or in the form of turrets. The piles of crops shall not be kept close, nor shall their tops be small or low.

खलस्य प्रकरान् कुर्यान् मण्डल अन्ते समाश्रितान् । अनग्निकाः स उदकाश् च खले स्युः परिकर्मिणः ॥

The threshing floors of different fields shall be situated close to each other. Workmen in the fields shall always have water but no fire.
