पर भूमिजं पण्यम् अनुग्रहेण आवाहयेत् ॥
The superintendent shall show favour to those who import foreign merchandise.
english translation
para bhUmijaM paNyam anugraheNa AvAhayet ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptन अविकस अर्थ वाहेभ्यश् च परिहारम् आयति क्षमं दद्यात् ॥
mariners (návika) and merchants who import foreign merchandise shall be favoured with remission of the trade-taxes, so that they may derive some profit (áyatikshamam pariháram dadyát).
english translation
na avikasa artha vAhebhyaz ca parihAram Ayati kSamaM dadyAt ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअनभियोगश् च अर्थेष्व् आगन्तूनाम्, अन्यत्र सभ्या उपकारिभ्यः ॥
Foreigners importing merchandise shall be exempted from being sued for debts unless they are (local) associations and partners (anabhiyogaschárthesshvágantúnámanyatassabhyopakári bhyah).
english translation
anabhiyogaz ca artheSv AgantUnAm, anyatra sabhyA upakAribhyaH ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपण्य अधिष्ठातारः पण्य मूल्यम् एक मुखं काष्ठ द्रोण्याम् एकच् छिद्र अपिधानायां निदध्युः ॥
Those who sell the merchandise of the king shall invariably put their sale proceeds in a wooden box kept in a fixed place and provided with a single aperture on the top.
english translation
paNya adhiSThAtAraH paNya mUlyam eka mukhaM kASTha droNyAm ekac chidra apidhAnAyAM nidadhyuH ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअह्नश् च अष्टमे भागे पण्य अध्यक्षस्य अर्पयेयुः "इदं विक्रीतम्, इदं शेषम्" इति ॥
During the eighth part of the day, they shall submit to the superintendent the sale report, saying "this much has been sold and this much remains;"
english translation
ahnaz ca aSTame bhAge paNya adhyakSasya arpayeyuH "idaM vikrItam, idaM zeSam" iti ॥
