त्रयो अंशास् तपनीयस्य द्वात्रिंशद् भाग श्वेत तारम् ऊर्च्छिताः तत् श्वेत लोहितकं भवति ॥
When three parts of tapaníya (pure gold) are melted with thirty-two parts of svetatára, the compound becomes reddish white (svetalohitakam).
english translation
trayo aMzAs tapanIyasya dvAtriMzad bhAga zveta tAram UrcchitAH tat zveta lohitakaM bhavati ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptताम्रं पीतकं करोति ॥
When three parts of tapaníya are combined with thirty-two parts of copper, the compound becomes yellow (píta, red!).
english translation
tAmraM pItakaM karoti ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतपनीयम् उज्ज्वाल्य राग त्रि भागं दद्यात्, पीत रागं भवति ॥
Also when three parts of the colouring ingredient (rágatribhága, i.e., tíkshna referred to above) are heated with tapaníya, the compound becomes yellowish red (píta).

tapanIyam ujjvAlya rAga tri bhAgaM dadyAt, pIta rAgaM bhavati ॥

When two parts of sveta-tára and one part of tapaníya are heated, the whole mass becomes as green as mudga (Phraseolus Mungo).
english translation
zveta tAra bhAgau dvAv ekas tapanIyasya mudga varNaM karoti ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकाल अयसस्य अर्ध भाग अभ्यक्तं कृष्णं भवति ॥
When tapaníya is drenched in a solution of half the quantity of black iron (káláyasa), it becomes black.

kAla ayasasya ardha bhAga abhyaktaM kRSNaM bhavati ॥
