किञ्जल्क वर्णं मृदु स्निग्धम् अनादि भ्राजिष्णु च श्रेष्ठम्, रक्त पीतकं मध्यमम्, रक्तम् अवरम् ॥
That which is of the colour of the petals of a lotus, ductile, glossy, incapable of making any continuous sound (anádi), and glittering is the best; that which is reddish yellow (raktapíta) is of middle quality.
