शठो हि बाह्यो अभ्यन्तरम् एवम् उपजपति "भर्तारं चेद्द् हत्वा मां प्रतिपादयिष्यति शत्रु वधो भूमि लाभश् च मे द्विविधो लाभो भविष्यति, अथ वा शत्रुर् एनम् आहनिष्यति इति हत बन्धु पक्षस् तुल्य दोष दण्डेन उद्विग्नश् च मे भूयान् अकृत्य पक्षो भविष्यति, तद् विधे वा अन्यस्मिन्न् अपि शङ्कितो भविष्यति, अन्यम् अन्यं च अस्य मुख्यम् अभित्यक्त शासनेन घातयिष्यामि" इति ॥
The intrigue carried on by a foreigner of obstinate temper with local persons is of the following form:--"If after killing his own master, he comes to me, then I will secure these two objects, the destruction of my enemy and the acquisition of the enemy's lands; or else my enemy kills him, with the consequence that the partisans of the relations killed, and other persons who are equally guilty and are therefore apprehensive of similar punishment to themselves will perturb my enemy's peace when my enemy has no friends to count; or when my enemy falls to suspect any other person who is equally guilty, I shall be able to cause the death of this or that officer under my enemy's own command.

zaTho hi bAhyo abhyantaram evam upajapati "bhartAraM cedd hatvA mAM pratipAdayiSyati zatru vadho bhUmi lAbhaz ca me dvividho lAbho bhaviSyati, atha vA zatrur enam AhaniSyati iti hata bandhu pakSas tulya doSa daNDena udvignaz ca me bhUyAn akRtya pakSo bhaviSyati, tad vidhe vA anyasminn api zaGkito bhaviSyati, anyam anyaM ca asya mukhyam abhityakta zAsanena ghAtayiSyAmi" iti ॥
