या वेदना शस्त्रनिपातजाता तीव्रा शरीरं प्रदुनोति जन्तोः । धृतेन सा शान्तिमुपैति सिक्ता कोष्णेन यष्टीमधुकान्वितेना ॥४२॥

The pain caused by a surgical incision that intensely affects the body of a person will subside when treated with a soothing application, such as a warm paste made with licorice and honey, which brings relief and calmness.

english translation

yA vedanA zastranipAtajAtA tIvrA zarIraM pradunoti jantoH । dhRtena sA zAntimupaiti siktA koSNena yaSTImadhukAnvitenA ॥42॥
