Sushruta Samhita
आनूपवर्गस्तु पञ्चविधः । तद्यथा- कूलचराः, प्लवाः, कोषस्थाः, पादिनो, मत्स्याश्चेति ॥९३॥
The Anūpa category is classified into five types: 1. Kūlacara (those that live in water bodies), 2. Plava (those that float), 3. Koṣastha (those that live in mud or sand), 4. Pādina (those that have legs), 5. Matsya (fish).

आनूप वर्ग पाँच प्रकारों में विभाजित है: 1. कूलचराः (जो जल निकायों में निवास करते हैं), 2. प्लवाः (जो तैरते हैं), 3. कोषस्थाः (जो कीचड़ या बालू में निवास करते हैं), 4. पादिनः (जो पैरों वाले होते हैं), 5. मत्स्याः (मछलियाँ)।
