उद्गारशुद्धावपि भक्तकाङ्क्षा न जायते हृद्गुरुता च यस्य । रसावशेषेण तु सप्रसेकं चतुर्थमेतत् प्रवदन्त्यजीर्णम् ॥५०३॥
Even if the food is free from impurities, if it does not satisfy the eater's desire and causes heaviness in the heart, it is considered undigested if there is any residue of taste and it is said to be the fourth type of undigested food.

भोजन में यदि कोई अशुद्धता न हो, फिर भी यदि वह खाने की इच्छा को पूरा नहीं करता और हृदय में भारीपन का कारण बनता है, तो उसे 'अजीर्ण' माना जाता है यदि उसमें स्वाद का कोई अवशेष हो और यह चौथे प्रकार का अजीर्ण भोजन कहा जाता है।
