अशौचनिद्रामात्सर्यागम्यागमनलोलताः । असत्यभाषणं चापि कुर्याद्धि तामसे मदः ॥२०९॥
The alcohol produced under the influence of Tamas (ignorance) leads to uncleanliness, drowsiness, envy, a tendency to procrastinate, and speaking untruths.

तामस गुण वाले मद (अल्कोहल) अशुद्धता, नींद, ईर्ष्या, विलंब की प्रवृत्ति, और असत्य बोलने की प्रवृत्ति उत्पन्न करता है।
