तत्र, मधुराम्ललवणा वातघ्नाः, मधुरतिक्तकषायाः पित्तघ्नाः, कटुतिक्तकषायाः श्लेष्मघ्नाः ॥४॥
Among these, the sweet, sour, and saline tastes are pacifying for Vata dosha; the sweet, bitter, and astringent tastes are pacifying for Pitta dosha; and the pungent, bitter, and astringent tastes are pacifying for Kapha dosha.

मधुर, अम्ल, और लवण स्वाद वात दोष को शांत करने वाले हैं; मधुर, तिक्त, और कषाय स्वाद पित्त दोष को शांत करने वाले हैं; और कटु, तिक्त, और कषाय स्वाद श्लेष्म दोष को शांत करने वाले हैं।
