बललक्षणं बलक्षयलक्षणं चात ऊर्ध्वमुपदेक्ष्यामः । तत्र रसादीनां शुक्रान्तानां धातूनां यत् परं तेजस्तत् खल्वोजस्तदेव बलमित्युच्यते, स्वशास्त्रसिद्धान्तात् ॥१९॥
I will now describe the characteristics of strength and weakness. In this context, strength is defined as the ability of substances such as rasa (plasma), and other dhatus (tissues) including semen, to manifest the highest degree of vitality and vigor. According to the principles of the science, this vitality is considered as strength.

बल की विशेषताएँ और बलक्षय की विशेषताएँ यहाँ वर्णित की जाएँगी। यहाँ बल की परिभाषा रस, मांस, और अन्य धातुओं, जैसे शुक्र आदि, की क्षमता से की जाती है जो उच्चतम मात्रा में तेज और शक्ति का प्रदर्शन करती है। शास्त्र के सिद्धांतों के अनुसार, यही तेज बल के रूप में माना जाता है।
