There, the sages proclaim that among the actions involving Sneha (oleaginous substances) and others, the action of Vasti (enema) is the most important. Why is that? Because the Vasti performs various functions: it purifies (cleanses), pacifies, and restrains the Doshas (morbific principles) through the combination of different substances. It enhances diminished semen (reproductive fluid), increases the body mass of the emaciated, reduces the corpulent, invigorates the eyesight, eliminates premature greyness, and helps maintain youthfulness.
