तदा लङ्कोदयैर् लग्नम् मध्यसम्ज्ञम् यथोदितम्। तत्क्रान्त्यक्षाम्शसम्योगो दिक्साम्ये +अन्तरम् अन्यथा॥

Then find the place of the culminating point of the ecliptic through the rising periods at the equator as mentioned before, and find the sum of the declination of the culminating point and the latitude of the place when they are of the same name, otherwise find the difference between them.

english translation

tadA laGkodayair lagnam madhyasamjJam yathoditam। tatkrAntyakSAmzasamyogo diksAmye +antaram anyathA॥
