ततः समन्तात् परिधिः क्रमेणायम् महार्णवः। मेखलेव स्थितो धात्र्या देवासुरविभागकृत्॥
Surrounding it on every side is fixed next this great ocean, like a girdle about the earth, dividing the two hemispheres of the gods and of the demons.
english translation
समन्तान् मेरुमध्यात् तु तुल्यभागेषु तोयधेः। द्वीपिषु दिक्षु पूर्वादिनगर्यो देवनिर्मिताः॥
And on all sides of the midst of Meru, in equal divisions of the ocean, upon islands (dvipa), in the different directions, are the "eastern and other cities, fashioned by the gods.

भूवृत्तपादे पूर्वस्याम् यमकोटीति विश्रुता । भद्राश्ववर्षे नगरी स्वर्णप्राकारतोरणा॥
At a quadr.ant of the earth's circumference eastward, in the clime (varshd) Bhadracva, is the city famed as Yamakoti, having walls and gateways of gold.

याम्यायाम् भारते वर्षे लङ्का तद्वन् महापुरी । पश्चिमे केतुमालाख्ये रोमकाख्या प्रकीर्तिता॥
To the southward, in the clime Bharata, is in like manner, the great city Lanka : to the west, in the clime called Ketumala, is declared to be the city named Komaka.
english translation
उदक् सिद्धपुरी नाम कुरुवर्षे प्रकीर्तिता । तस्याम् सिद्धा महात्मानो निवसन्ति गतव्यथाः॥
Northward, in the clime Kuril, is declared to be the city called that of the Perfected (siddha) ; in it dwell the magnanimous Perfected, free from trouble.
