भास्करेन्द्वोर् भचक्रान्तश् चक्रार्धावधिसम्स्थयोः। दृक्तुल्यसाधिताम्शादियुक्तयोः स्वाव् अपक्रमौ॥
When the sum of the longtitudes, corrected by the process of dåkkarma (ayanängça-sanskåita), of the sun and the moon are within the twelve räçis or close to the six räçis, calculate for that time their corresponding declinations apakarma (kranti).
english translation
अथौजपदगस्येन्दोः क्रान्तिर् विक्षेपसम्स्कृता । यदि स्याद् अधिका भानोः क्रान्तेः पातो गतस् तदा॥
Then, if the declination of the moon, she being in an odd quadrant, is, when corrected by her latitude (vikshepa), greater than the declination of the sun, the aspect (pdta) is already past: . -

ऊना चेत् स्यात् तदा भावी वामम् युग्मपदस्य च । पदान्यत्वम् विधोः क्रान्तिविक्षेपाच् चेद् विशुध्यति॥
If less, it is still to come : in an even quadrant, the contrary is the case. If the moon's declination is to be subtracted from her latitude, the rules as to the quadrant are to be reversed.

क्रान्त्योर् ज्ये त्रिज्ययाभ्यस्ते परक्रान्तिज्ययोद्धृते । तच्चापान्तरम् अर्धम् वा योज्यम् भाविनि शीतगौ॥
Multiply the sines of the two declinations 'by radius, and divide by the sine of greatest declination : the difference of the arcs corresponding to the results, or half that difference, is to be added to the moon's longitude when the aspect (pdta) is to come; . -

शोध्यम् चन्द्राद् गते पाते तत्सूर्यगतिताडितम् । चन्द्रभुक्त्या हृतम् भानौ लिप्तादि शशिवत् फलम्॥
And is to be subtracted from the moon's longitude when the aspect is past. If the same quantity be multiplied by the eun's motion and divided by the moon's motion, the result is an equation, in minutes, which is to be applied to the sun's place, in the same direction as the other to the moon's.
