तद्वच्छशाङ्कपातस्य फलम् देयम् विपर्ययात् । कर्मैतद् असकृत् तावद् यावद् क्रान्ती समे तयोः॥
So also is to be applied, in the contrary direction, a like equation to the place of the moon's node. This operation is to be repeated, until the declinations of the two bodies come to be the same.

क्रान्त्योः समत्वे पातो +अथ प्रक्षिप्ताम्शोनिते विधौ । हीने +अर्धरात्रिकाद् यातो भावी तात्कालिके +अधिके॥
The aspect (pita) is at the time of equality of declinations ; if, then, the moon's longitude, as thus increased or diminished, be less than her longitude at midnight, the aspect is past ; if greater, it is to come.

स्थिरीकृतार्धरात्रेन्द्वोर् द्वयोर् विवरलिप्तिकाः। षष्टिघ्न्यश् चन्द्रभुक्त्याप्ताः पातकालस्य नाडिकाः॥
The minutes of interval between the moon's longitude as finally established and that at midnight give, when multiplied by sixty and divided by the moon's daily motion, the time of the aspect, in nadis.

रवीन्दुमानयोगार्धम् षष्ट्या सङ्गुण्य भाजयेत् । तयोर् भुक्त्यन्तरेणाप्तम् स्थित्यर्धम् नाडिकादि तत्॥
Multiply the half-sum of the dimensions (mana) of the sun and moon by sixty, and divide by the difference of their daily motions : the result is half the duration (sthiti), in nadi, etc.

पातकालः स्फुटो मध्यः सो +अपि स्थित्यर्धवर्जितः। तस्य सम्भवकालः स्यात् तत् सम्युक्तो +अन्त्यसाम्ज्ञितः॥
The corrected (sphuta) time of the aspect (pdta) is the middle : if that be diminished by the half-duration, the result is the time of the commencement ; if increased by the same, it is the time of the end.
