सार्पेन्द्रपौष्ण्यधिष्ण्यानाम् अन्त्याः पादा भसन्धयः। तदग्रभेष्व् आद्यपादो गण्डान्तम् नाम कीर्त्यते॥
Of the asterisms (dhishnya) Aclesha (sdrpa), Jyeshtha (dindra), and Revati (paushnya), the last quarters are junctions of the asterisms (bhasandhi) ; the first quarter in the asterisms following these respectively is styled ganddnta.

व्यतीपातत्रयम् घोरम् गण्डान्तत्रितयम् तथा । एतद् भसन्धित्रितयम् सर्वकर्मसु वर्जयेत्॥
The three vyatipätas, the three gaëdäëdas and the three-period of junctions (sandhigatakäla) are exceedingly desecrated. Avoid all these in all work.

इत्य् एतत् परमम् पुण्यम् ज्योतिषाम् चरितम् हितम् । र्हस्यम् महद् आख्यातम् किम् अन्यच्छ्रोतुम् इच्छसि॥
Hence, I related to you the supreme, pure, excellent and the mysterious grand system of the heavenly bodies, what else you desire to know?
