श्रीशुक उवाच अथातः श्रूयतां राजन् वंशः सोमस्य पावनः । यस्मिन्नैलादयो भूपाः कीर्त्यन्ते पुण्यकीर्तयः ।। ९-१४-१ ।।

sanskrit

Śrīla Śukadeva Gosvāmī said to Mahārāja Parīkṣit: O King, thus far you have heard the description of the dynasty of the sun-god. Now hear the most glorious and purifying description of the dynasty of the moon-god. This description mentions kings like Aila [Purūravā] of whom it is glorious to hear. ।। 9-14-1 ।।

english translation

श्रील शुकदेव गोस्वामी ने महाराज परीक्षित से कहा : हे राजन्, अभी तक आपने सूर्यवंश का विवरण सुना है। अब सोमवंश का अत्यन्त कीर्तिप्रद एवं पावन वर्णन सुनिए। इसमें ऐल (पुरुरवा) जैसे राजाओं का उल्लेख है जिनके विषय में सुनना कीर्तिप्रद होता है। ।। ९-१४-१ ।।

zrIzuka uvAca athAtaH zrUyatAM rAjan vaMzaH somasya pAvanaH | yasminnailAdayo bhUpAH kIrtyante puNyakIrtayaH || 9-14-1 ||
