यथा वस्तूनि पण्यानि हेमादीनि ततस्ततः । पर्यटन्ति नरेष्वेवं जीवो योनिषु कर्तृषु ॥ ६-१६-६ ॥

sanskrit

Just as gold and other commodities are continually transferred from one place to another in due course of purchase and sale, so the living entity, as a result of his fruitive activities, wanders throughout the entire universe, being injected into various bodies in different species of life by one kind of father after another. ॥ 6-16-6 ॥

english translation

जिस प्रकार सोना तथा अन्य व्यापारिक वस्तुएँ समय-समय पर क्रम-विक्रम के कारण लगातार एक स्थान से दूसरे स्थान को स्थानान्तरित होती रहती हैं उसी प्रकार जीवात्मा भी अपने कर्मों के कारण पूरे ब्रह्माण्ड में घूमता रहता है। ॥ ६-१६-६ ॥
