यस्तु महाकदम्बः सुपार्श्वनिरूढो यास्तस्य कोटरेभ्योविनिःसृताः पञ्चायामपरिणाहाः पञ्च मधुधाराः सुपार्श्वशिखरात्पतन्त्योऽपरेणात्मानमिलावृतमनुमोदयन्ति ।। ५-१६-२२ ।।

On the side of Supārśva Mountain stands a big tree called Mahākadamba, which is very celebrated. From the hollows of this tree flow five rivers of honey, each about five vyāmas wide. This flowing honey falls incessantly from the top of Supārśva Mountain and flows all around Ilāvṛta-varṣa, beginning from the western side. Thus the whole land is saturated with the pleasing fragrance. ।। 5-16-22 ।।

english translation

सुपार्श्व पर्वत की बगल में महाकदम्ब नामक अत्यन्त प्रसिद्ध विशाल वृक्ष खड़ा है। इस वृक्ष के कोटर से मधु की पाँच नदियाँ निकलती हैं जिनमें से प्रत्येक लगभग पाँच “व्याम” चौड़ी है। यह प्रवहमान मधु सुपार्श्व पर्वत की चोटी से सतत नीचे गिरता रहता है और इलावृत-वर्ष की पश्चिम दिशा से प्रारम्भ होकर उसके चारों ओर बहता रहता है। इस प्रकार सम्पूर्ण स्थल सुहावनी गंध से पूरित है। ।। ५-१६-२२ ।।
