प्रसज्जति क्वापि लता भुजाश्रयस्तदाश्रयाव्यक्तपदद्विजस्पृहः । क्वचित्कदाचिद्धरिचक्रतस्त्रसन् सख्यं विधत्ते बककङ्कगृध्रैः ॥ ५-१३-१६ ॥
Sometimes the living entity in the forest of material existence takes shelter of creepers and desires to hear the chirping of the birds in those creepers. Being afraid of roaring lions in the forest, he makes friends with cranes, herons and vultures. ॥ 5-13-16 ॥
english translation
कभी-कभी जीवात्मा संसार रूपी जंगल में लताओं का आश्रय लेता है और उन लताओं में बैठें पक्षियों की चहचहाहट सुनना चाहता है। जंगल के सिंहों की दहाड़ से भयभीत होकर वह बगुलों, सारसों तथा गृद्धों से मैत्री स्थापित करता है। ॥ ५-१३-१६ ॥
