न वयं नरदेव प्रमत्ता भवन्नियमानुपथाः साध्वेव वहामः अयमधुनैव नियुक्तोऽपि न द्रुतं व्रजति नानेन सह वोढुमु ह वयं पारयाम इति ॥ ५-१०-४ ॥
O lord, please note that we are not at all negligent in discharging our duties. We have been faithfully carrying this palanquin according to your desire, but this man who has been recently engaged to work with us cannot walk very swiftly. Therefore we are not able to carry the palanquin with him. ॥ 5-10-4 ॥

हे स्वामी, कृपया ध्यान दें कि हम अपना कार्य करने में तनिक भी असावधान नहीं हैं। हम इस पालकी को आपकी इच्छानुसार निष्ठा से ले जा रहे हैं, किन्तु यह व्यक्ति, जिसे हाल ही में काम में लगाया गया है, तेजी से नहीं चल पा रहा। अत: हम उसके साथ पालकी ले जाने में असमर्थ हैं। ॥ ५-१०-४ ॥
