श्यामावदाताः शतपत्रलोचनाः पिशङ्गवस्त्राः सुरुचः सुपेशसः । सर्वे चतुर्बाहव उन्मिषन्मणिप्रवेकनिष्काभरणाः सुवर्चसः । प्रवालवैदूर्यमृणालवर्चसः परिस्फुरत्कुण्डलमौलिमालिनः ।। २-९-११ ।।

The inhabitants of the Vaikuṇṭha planets are described as having a glowing sky-bluish complexion. Their eyes resemble lotus flowers, their dress is of yellowish color, and their bodily features very attractive. They are just the age of growing youths, they all have four hands, they are all nicely decorated with pearl necklaces with ornamental medallions, and they all appear to be effulgent. Some of them are effulgent like coral and diamonds in complexion and have garlands on their heads, blooming like lotus flowers, and some wear earrings. ।। 2-9-11 ।।
english translation
वैकुण्ठ लोक के वासियों को आभामय श्यामवर्ण का बताया गया है। उनकी आँखें कमल-पुष्प के समान, उनके वस्त्र पीलाभ रंग के और उनकी शारीरिक संरचना अत्यन्त आकर्षक है। वे उभरते हुए तरुणों की तरह हैं, उन सबके चार-चार हाथ हैं। वे मोती के हारों तथा अलंकृत पदकों से भली-भाँति विभूषित होकर अत्यन्त तेजवान् प्रतीत होते हैं। उनमें से कुछ की आकृतियाँ मूँगे तथा हीरे की भाँति तेजस्वी हैं और वे अपने सिरों पर मालाएँ धारण किए हैं, जो कमल-पुष्प के समान खिली हुई हैं। कुछ ने कानों में कुण्डल पहन रखे हैं। ।। २-९-११ ।।
