यस्मा अदादुदधिरूढभयाङ्गवेपो मार्गं सपद्यरिपुरं हरवद्दिधक्षोः । दूरे सुहृन्मथितरोषसुशोणदृष्ट्या तातप्यमानमकरोरगनक्रचक्रः ।। २-७-२४ ।।

The Personality of Godhead Rāmacandra, being aggrieved for His distant intimate friend [Sītā], glanced over the city of the enemy Rāvaṇa with red-hot eyes like those of Hara [who wanted to burn the kingdom of heaven]. The great ocean, trembling in fear, gave Him His way because its family members, the aquatics like the sharks, snakes and crocodiles, were being burnt by the heat of the angry red-hot eyes of the Lord. ।। 2-7-24 ।।
english translation
दूरस्थ अपनी घनिष्ठ संगिनी (सीता) के वियोग से दुखी श्रीरामचन्द्र ने अपने शत्रु रावण की नगरी पर हर (शिव जो स्वर्ग के राज्य को भस्म कर देना चाहते थे) के जैसे ज्वलित लाल-लाल नेत्रों से दृष्टि डाली। अपार समुद्र ने उन्हें भय से काँपते हुए मार्ग दे दिया, क्योंकि उसके परिवार के सभी जलचर सदस्य यथा मगरमच्छ, सर्प तथा घडिय़ाल भगवान् के रक्त नेत्रों की क्रोधाग्नि से जले जा रहे थे। ।। २-७-२४ ।।
