Srimad Bhagavatam
ब्रह्मवर्चसकामस्तु यजेत ब्रह्मणः पतिम् । इन्द्रमिन्द्रियकामस्तु प्रजाकामः प्रजापतीन् ॥ २-३-२ ॥
One who desires to be absorbed in the impersonal brahmajyoti effulgence should worship the master of the Vedas [Lord Brahmā or Bṛhaspati, the learned priest], one who desires powerful sex should worship the heavenly King, Indra, and one who desires good progeny should worship the great progenitors called the Prajāpatis. ॥ 2-3-2 ॥
english translation
जो व्यक्ति निर्विशेष ब्रह्मज्योति तेज में लीन होने की कामना करता है, उसे वेदों के स्वामी (भगवान् ब्रह्मा या विद्वान पुरोहित बृहस्पति) की पूजा करनी चाहिए; जो प्रबल कामवासना का इच्छुक हो, उसे स्वर्ग के राजा इन्द्र की और जो अच्छी सन्तान का इच्छुक हो, उसे प्रजापतियों की पूजा करनी चाहिए। ॥ २-३-२ ॥
