Srimad Bhagavatam
तं जिघांसुमभिप्रेत्य विहाय नृपलाञ्छनम् । तत्पादमूलं शिरसा समगाद्भयविह्वलः ॥ १-१७-२९ ॥
When the personality of Kali understood that the King was willing to kill him, he at once abandoned the dress of a king and, under pressure of fear, completely surrendered to him, bowing his head. ॥ 1-17-29 ॥
english translation
जब कलि ने समझ लिया कि राजा उसको मार डालना चाह रहा है, तो उसने तुरन्त राजा का वेश त्याग दिया और भयभीत होकर अपना सिर झुका कर पूर्णरूप से उनके समक्ष आत्म- समर्पण कर दिया। ॥ १-१७-२९ ॥
