Worship of Shiva is especially auspicious on Ārdrā and Mahārdrā days. The worship on the Chaturdaśī of the Krishna Paksha in the month of Māgha is said to grant all desired results.
The worship of Lord Shiva on Mahārdrā during the Jyeṣṭha month, especially on the Chaturdaśī day, is said to be life-giving, remover of death, and the bestower of all accomplishments for mankind.
On the Ārdrā day of the Mārgaśīrṣa month, one should worship Lord Shiva with sixteen kinds of offerings (upacāras). By doing so, the devotee will be blessed with the vision of His feet, which grants spiritual and material benefits.
