On the twelfth day (Dvādaśī), the worship of Viṣṇu is considered to be a highly auspicious and beneficial act. The worship of Viṣṇu in the month of Śrāvaṇa (during the Śrāvaṇa lunar month) is said to grant the desired results and is known to bestow health and well-being.
The devotee shall worship twelve brahmins on the Dvādaśī day assigning them the twelve names of Viṣṇu with all the sixteen forms of service. He shall gratify the deity thereby.
A person who seeks prosperity shall worship Pārvatī who bestows all worldly pleasures on Mondays, Navamī (ninth) day, and in the star of Mṛgaśiras in the month of Karkaṭaka.
