पूजार्यते ह्यनेनेति वेदेष्वर्थस्य योजना । पूर्णभोगफलसिद्धिश्च जायते तेन कर्मणा २९ ।

The word Pūjā is thus derived: Pūḥ means ‘the achievement of the fruits of enjoyment.’ By the rite one achieves the fruits.
