एवं मोहाकुलौ वैश्यपार्थिवौ मुनिसत्तम ।। जग्मतुर्मुनिवर्यस्य मेधसः सन्निधिन्तदा ।। ४१।।

O excellent sage, the king and the Vaiśya, both of them equally deluded then approached the sage Medhas.

स वैश्यराजसहितो नरराजः प्रतापवान् ।। प्रणनाम महावीरः शिरसा योगिनां वरम् ।। ४२।।

The valorous king accompanied by the chief of the Vaiśyas bowed his head to the leading Yogin.

sa vaizyarAjasahito nararAjaH pratApavAn || praNanAma mahAvIraH zirasA yoginAM varam || 42||

बद्ध्वाञ्जलिमिमां वाचमुवाच नृपतिर्मुनिम् ।। भगवन्नावयोर्मोहं छेत्तुमर्हसि साम्प्रतम् ।। ४३ ।।

With palms joined in reverence the king spoke to the sage:—“O holy lord, it behoves you now to dispel our delusion.

अहं राजश्रिया त्यक्तो गहनं वनमाश्रितः ।। तथापि हृतराज्यस्य तोषो नैवाभिजायते ।। ४४ ।।

Abandoned by the royal glory I have resorted to this dense forest. Still I am not content and happy since my kingdom has been taken away.

ahaM rAjazriyA tyakto gahanaM vanamAzritaH || tathApi hRtarAjyasya toSo naivAbhijAyate || 44 ||

अयं च वैश्यस्स्वजनैर्दाराद्यैर्निष्कृतो गृहात् ।। तथाप्येतस्य ममता न निवृत्तिं समश्नुते ।। ४५ ।।

This Vaiśya has been expelled from his house by his people, wife and others. Still his sense of affinity and kinship with them does not go off.
