एकदा स महाराजश्चिंतामाप दुरत्ययाम् ॥ अहो मे हीनभाग्यस्य दुर्बुद्धेर्हीनतेजसः ॥ २६ ॥
Once the great king was in a state of insurmountable anxiety. Oh how unfortunate I am, how evil-minded and how devoid of splendor I am.

हृतं राज्यमशेषेण शत्रुवर्गैर्मदोद्धतैः ॥ मत्पूर्वै रक्षितं राज्यं शत्रुभिर्भुज्यतेऽधुना ॥ २७ ॥
The kingdom was usurped in its entirety by the intoxicated classes of enemies The kingdom protected by me before is now being enjoyed by my enemies.

मादृशश्चैत्रवंशेस्मिन्न कोप्यासीन्महीपतिः ॥ किं करोमि क्व गच्छामि कथं राज्यं लभेमहि ॥ २८ ॥
There was no king in this family as weak as I. What shall I do? Where shall I go? How shall I get the kingdom back?

अमात्या मंत्रिणश्चैव मामका ये सनातनाः ॥ न जाने कं च नृपतिं समासाद्याधुनासते ॥ २९ ॥
My hereditary ministers and counsellors have left me. I do not know which king they serve now.

विनाश्य राज्यमधुना न जाने कां गतिं गताः ॥ रणभूमिमहोत्साहा अरिवर्गनिकर्तनाः ॥ ३० ॥
Having destroyed the kingdom I do not know what fate they have now taken They were very enthusiastic on the battlefield and destroyed the class of enemies.
