युधिष्ठिरेण संपृष्टो भीष्मो धर्मभृतां वरः॥ शरशय्यास्थितः प्रोचे तच्छृणुष्व वदामि ते ॥ ९॥

sanskrit

Bhishma the foremost among the upholders of righteousness was inquired by Yudhisthira Standing on the bed of the arrows he spoke to me Listen to what I shall tell you.

english translation

yudhiSThireNa saMpRSTo bhISmo dharmabhRtAM varaH॥ zarazayyAsthitaH proce tacchRNuSva vadAmi te ॥ 9॥
