यद्भक्त्या ते तपश्चीर्णं मम दर्शनकांक्षया ॥ एष दृष्टोऽस्मि भद्रं ते कं कामं करवाणि ते ॥ ४१॥
Since you have piously performed penance with a desire for my vision I have appeared before you. Welfare be to you. What wish of yours shall I carry out?”
english translation
yadbhaktyA te tapazcIrNaM mama darzanakAMkSayA ॥ eSa dRSTo'smi bhadraM te kaM kAmaM karavANi te ॥ 41॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptइत्युक्तवन्तं तं चाहं प्रावोचं त्वं शृणु प्रभो ॥ पितॄणामादिसर्गं च कथयस्व यथातथम् ॥ ४२॥
When he said this I told him—“O holy lord, listen. Please narrate factually the original creation of the Pitṛs.
english translation
ityuktavantaM taM cAhaM prAvocaM tvaM zRNu prabho ॥ pitRRNAmAdisargaM ca kathayasva yathAtatham ॥ 42॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptइत्युक्तस्स तु मां प्राह शृणु सर्वं यथातथम् ॥ वच्मि ते तत्त्वतस्तात पितृसर्गं शुभावहम् ॥ ४३॥
When requested thus he said to me. Listen to everything factually. O dear one, I shall explain to you the auspicious creation of the Pitṛs truthfully.
english translation
ityuktassa tu mAM prAha zRNu sarvaM yathAtatham ॥ vacmi te tattvatastAta pitRsargaM zubhAvaham ॥ 43॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसनत्कुमार उवाच ॥ देवान्पुरासृजद्ब्रह्मा मां यक्षध्वं स चाह तान् ॥ तमुत्सृज्य तमात्मानमयजंस्ते फलार्थिनः ॥ ४४॥
Sanatkumāra said:— Formerly Brahmā created the gods and said to them, “Worship me”. But they who sought benefits eschewed him and worshipped the Ātman.
english translation
sanatkumAra uvAca ॥ devAnpurAsRjadbrahmA mAM yakSadhvaM sa cAha tAn ॥ tamutsRjya tamAtmAnamayajaMste phalArthinaH ॥ 44॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptते शप्ता ब्रह्मणा मूढा नष्टसंज्ञा भविष्यथ ॥ तस्मात्किंचिदजानंतो नष्टसंज्ञाः पितामहम् ॥ ४५॥
Cursed by Brahma you will become foolish and lose consciousness Knowing nothing of this, they lost consciousness of their grandfather.
english translation
te zaptA brahmaNA mUDhA naSTasaMjJA bhaviSyatha ॥ tasmAtkiMcidajAnaMto naSTasaMjJAH pitAmaham ॥ 45॥
