हे जनाः किन्न पश्यंति यन्निर्याति दिनेदिने ।। स्वदेहात्कश्मलं पूतिस्तदाधारः कथं शुचिः ।। ६ ।।

O men, don’t you see dirty and foetal matter coming out of your bodies day by day. How can the receptacle of such matter be pure.?

देहस्संशोध्यमानोऽपि पंचगव्यकुशांबुभिः ।। घृष्यमाण इवांगारो निर्मलत्वं न गच्छति ।। ७ ।।

Even if the body is sprinkled with the waters of the holy Kuśa grass and smeared with Pañcagavya, it will not become free from dirt like charcoal even when it is rubbed and polished.

dehassaMzodhyamAno'pi paMcagavyakuzAMbubhiH || ghRSyamANa ivAMgAro nirmalatvaM na gacchati || 7 ||

स्रोतांसि यस्य सततं प्रभवंति गिरेरिव ।। कफमूत्रपुरीषाद्यैस्स देहश्शुध्यते कथम् ।। ८।।

Like the perennial flow of the springs of a mountain the vessels of the body discharge phlegm, urine, faeces and other types of filth. How can that body become clean?

srotAMsi yasya satataM prabhavaMti gireriva || kaphamUtrapurISAdyaissa dehazzudhyate katham || 8||

सर्वाशुचिनिधानस्य शरीरस्य न विद्यते ।। शुचिरेकः प्रदेशोऽपि विण्मूत्रस्य दृतेरिव ।। ९ ।।

There is not even a single clean spot on the body—the receptacle of all types of filth and a leather bag of faeces and urine.

सृष्ट्वात्मदेहस्रोतांसि मृत्तोयैः शोध्यते करः ।। तथाप्यशुचिभांडस्य न विभ्रश्यति किं करः ।। १० ।।

After touching the tips of the vessels of one’s own body the hand is washed with sand and water. Still the persons who are slaves to this filthy body do not feel.
