सनत्कुमार उवाच ॥ एवमुच्चार्य्य तं दद्यात् द्विजेभ्यः सर्वदा हितः ॥ नैकस्यापि प्रदातव्यं न निस्तारस्ततो भवेत् ॥ ३१ ॥
The presiding deity shall be made after reciting the above formula It shall not be given to a single person. There is no benefit in it. It shall be distributed among many brahmins.

ददात्येवं तु यो व्यास तुलापुरुषमुत्तमम् ॥ हत्वा पापं दिव्यं तिष्ठेद्यावदिन्द्राश्चतुर्द्दश ॥ ३२ ॥
O Vyāsa, he who makes this excellent gift of the presiding deity of the balance destroys his sins and attains heaven He stays there as long as the fourteen Indras rule over it.
