तपसा मोक्षमाप्नोति तपसा विंदते महत् ॥ ज्ञानविज्ञानसंपत्तिः सौभाग्यं रूपमेव च ॥ ४१ ॥
One achieves great things through penance, One attains salvation, knowledge, perfect wisdom, good fortune and beauty by penance.
english translation
tapasA mokSamApnoti tapasA viMdate mahat ॥ jJAnavijJAnasaMpattiH saubhAgyaM rUpameva ca ॥ 41 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptनानाविधानि वस्तूनि तपसा लभते नरः ॥ तपसा लभते सर्वं मनसा यद्यदिच्छति ॥ ४२ ॥
Man obtains different things through penance; he gets everything, whatever he wishes in his mind through penance.
english translation
nAnAvidhAni vastUni tapasA labhate naraH ॥ tapasA labhate sarvaM manasA yadyadicchati ॥ 42 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptनातप्ततपसो यांति ब्रह्मलोकं कदाचन ॥ नातप्ततपसां प्राप्यश्शंकरः परमेश्वरः ॥ ४३॥
Those who have never performed penance (tapas) do not attain Brahmaloka; lord Śiva is not accessible to those who have never performed penance.
english translation
nAtaptatapaso yAMti brahmalokaM kadAcana ॥ nAtaptatapasAM prApyazzaMkaraH paramezvaraH ॥ 43॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयत्कार्यं किंचिदास्थाय पुरुषस्तपते तपः ॥ तत्सर्वं समवाप्नोति परत्रेह च मानवः ॥ ४४॥
After deciding on a particular thing, if a man performs penance he attains it here as well as hereafter.
english translation
yatkAryaM kiMcidAsthAya puruSastapate tapaH ॥ tatsarvaM samavApnoti paratreha ca mAnavaH ॥ 44॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसुरापः पारदारी च ब्रह्महा गुरुतल्पगः ॥ तपसा तरते सर्वं सर्वतश्च विमुंचति॥ ४५॥
The wine-addict, the defiler of other women, the brahmin-slayer, the defiler of teacher’s bed overcome all sins through penance and get rid of them.
english translation
surApaH pAradArI ca brahmahA gurutalpagaH ॥ tapasA tarate sarvaM sarvatazca vimuMcati॥ 45॥
