शैलराज त्वमप्येव सुतां दत्त्वा शिवाय च ॥ रक्ष सर्वान्बंधुवर्गान्वशं कुरु सुरानपि ॥६१॥
O king of mountains, you too save your kinsmen by giving your daughter to Śiva. You can claim thus the gods too to your side.
english translation
ब्रह्मोवाच ॥ इत्याकर्ण्य वसिष्ठस्य वचनं स प्रह स्य च ॥ पप्रच्छ नृपवार्त्ताश्च हृदयेन विदूयता ॥६२॥
Brahmā said: On hearing the words of Vasiṣṭha, Himavat, with a dejected heart but laughing outwardly asked him about the details of the story of the king.
english translation
हिमालय उवाच ॥ कस्य वंशोद्भवो ब्रह्मन्ननरण्यो नृपश्चसः ॥ सुतां दत्त्वा स च कथं ररक्षाखिलसम्पदः ॥ ६३ ॥
Himavat said: O brahmin, what is the race to which the king Anaraṇya belonged? How did he save his assets by giving his daughter?
english translation
ब्रह्मोवाच ॥ इति श्रुत्वा वसिष्ठस्तु शैलवाक्यं प्रसन्नधीः ॥ प्रोवाच गिरये तस्मै नृपवार्त्ता सुखावहाम्॥६४॥
Brahmā said: On hearing these words of the mountain, Vasiṣṭha became glad and told him the details of the interesting story of the king.
