तस्मात्त्वया गिरिजा देव शंभो ग्रहीतव्या पाणिना दक्षिणेन ॥ पाणिग्रहेणैव महानुभावां दत्तां गिरींद्रेण च तां कुरुष्व ॥ १६॥
Hence, O lord Śiva, Pārvatī shall be accepted by you and grasped with your right hand. Accept her hand as offered in marriage by the lord of mountains. She is full of noble attributes.
english translation
विष्णोस्तद्वचनं श्रुत्वा प्रसन्नो ह्यब्रवीच्छिवः ॥ दर्शयन् सद्गतिं तेषां सर्वेषां योगतत्परः ॥ १७ ॥
On hearing those words of Viṣṇu, Śiva was pleased and said indicating to them the goal of the good, eager in Yogic feats as He was.

शिव उवाच ॥ यदा मे स्वीकृता देवी गिरिजा सर्वसुंदरी ॥ तदा सर्वे सुरेंद्राश्च मुनयो ऋषयस्तदा ॥ १८ ॥
Śiva said: If goddess Pārvatī, the most beautiful lady were to be accepted by me, she will be able to resuscitate Kāma on account of the marriage.
english translation
सकामाश्च भविष्यन्ति न क्षमाश्च परे पथि ॥ जीवयिष्यति दुर्गा सा पाणिग्रहणतस्स्मरम् ॥ १९ ॥
Then all the gods, sages and ascetics will become lusty and incompetent in the great path of Yoga.
english translation
मदनो हि मया दग्धस्सर्वेषां कार्य्यसिद्धये ॥। ब्रह्मणो वचनाद्विष्णो नात्र कार्या विचारणा ॥ 2-3-24-२० ॥
Kāma was burnt by me for the achievement of universal goal. It was at the suggestion of Brahmā, O Viṣṇu. No anxiety need be felt in this connection.
