देवा ऊचुः ॥ त्वया सृष्टमिदं सर्वं जगदेतच्चराचरम् ॥ संतप्तमति कस्माद्वै न ज्ञातं कारणं विभो॥२४॥

sanskrit

The gods said: O lord, the whole of this universe consisting of the mobile and immobile has been created by you. Why is it scorched so much? We do not understand.

english translation

devA UcuH ॥ tvayA sRSTamidaM sarvaM jagadetaccarAcaram ॥ saMtaptamati kasmAdvai na jJAtaM kAraNaM vibho॥24॥
