भूभिशुद्धिं ततः कृत्वा वेदीं निर्माय सुन्दरी ।। तथा तपस्समारब्धं मुनीनामपि दुष्करम् ।। ३८ ।।

sanskrit

Neatly cleaning the ground, the beautiful lady built the altar. Then the penance, difficult to be performed even by the sages, was begun.

english translation

bhUbhizuddhiM tataH kRtvA vedIM nirmAya sundarI || tathA tapassamArabdhaM munInAmapi duSkaram || 38 ||
