तपश्चकार सा तत्र शृंगितीर्थे महोत्तमे ॥ गौरीशिखर नामासीत्तत्तपःकरणाद्धि तत् ॥ ३६ ॥

She performed penance in the excellent holy centre Śṛṅgitīrtha which (later) acquired the title “Gaurī-Śikhara” due to her performance of penance thereon.
