ब्रह्मोवाच ॥ ममैव वचसा दैत्यस्तारकाख्यस्समेधितः॥ न मत्तस्तस्य हननं युज्यते हि दिवौकसः ॥२१ ॥
O gods, the demon Tāraka has flourished, thanks to my words of blessings. His destruction through me does not seem proper.
english translation
brahmovAca ॥ mamaiva vacasA daityastArakAkhyassamedhitaH॥ na mattastasya hananaM yujyate hi divaukasaH ॥21 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततो नैव वधो योग्यो यतो वृद्धिमुपागतः ॥ विष वृक्षोऽपि संवर्ध्य स्वयं छेत्तुमसांप्रतम्॥२२॥
Improper is the destruction through that source wherefrom he has flourished. Even a poisonous tree tended and nurtured by one cannot be cut and felled down by oneself.
english translation
tato naiva vadho yogyo yato vRddhimupAgataH ॥ viSa vRkSo'pi saMvardhya svayaM chettumasAMpratam॥22॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयुष्माकं चाखिलं कार्यं कर्तुं योग्यो हि शंकरः॥ किन्तु स्वयं न शक्तो हि प्रतिकर्तुं प्रचो दितः॥२३॥
Śiva is the most suitable agent to carry out your task. But I myself cannot do anything remedial in this case.
english translation
yuSmAkaM cAkhilaM kAryaM kartuM yogyo hi zaMkaraH॥ kintu svayaM na zakto hi pratikartuM praco ditaH॥23॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतारकाख्यस्तु पापेन स्वयमेष्यति संक्षयम् ॥ यथा यूयं संविदध्वमुपदेशकरस्त्वहम् ॥ २४ ॥
Tāraka will be destroyed by his own sin. How that shall be done you know from me. I shall advise you.
english translation
tArakAkhyastu pApena svayameSyati saMkSayam ॥ yathA yUyaM saMvidadhvamupadezakarastvaham ॥ 24 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptन मया तारको वध्यो हरिणापि हरेण च॥ नान्येनापि सुरैर्वापि मद्वरात्सत्यमुच्यते॥२५॥
Thanks to the power of the boon granted by me. Tāraka cannot be killed by me or by Viṣṇu or by Śiva or by any one of the gods. It is true.

na mayA tArako vadhyo hariNApi hareNa ca॥ nAnyenApi surairvApi madvarAtsatyamucyate॥25॥
