मधोर्वनमुपागम्य गुर्वाज्ञाप्रतिपालकः ।। विधिमुद्दिश्य विधिवत्तपस्तेपे सुदारुणम् ।।२२।।

sanskrit

Strictly adhering to the directions of his elders and preceptors he went to the forest of Madhu and performed a severe penance duly, having Brahmā as his objective.

english translation

madhorvanamupAgamya gurvAjJApratipAlakaH || vidhimuddizya vidhivattapastepe sudAruNam ||22||
